Without going into specifics, my boss bought a 2018 Maserati today that had 300 miles on it. The original price was $110,000 and it was bought today for $80,000.00.
It looks nice at least and turns my jobs garage into the ideal “oil rich prince” paradise as there’s a white Quattroporte, a white G63, and a ‘65 Factory Five

Was it sold as a “new” or a “used” car?

Is this in addition to the gaggle of others?
For fun, check the value (and maybe condition, too) in 5 years.

This was not part of the 17, which we’re getting an answer on tomorrow

It was sold new, sold to us “used”

An STi will always be a better investment than a Maserati.

The deprecation is more than I’ve ever spent on a car.

True for cars, true for diseases.

It’s nearly more than I’ve ever spent, combined!

I’ve spent $65k on cars my entire life.

Remind him of this savings when he resells it for $40,000 in eighteen months.

Seriously, it’ll be $25k if he’s lucky.

Sold it before we even took delivery of it

If I don’t count my wife’s cars, I’m only at $25k or so lifetime, and that includes my current truck, which I’m sure hasn’t gone down in value since I bought it, and my DD
‘03 bmw.
If I count 50% of the money we’ve spent on cars my wife has primarily driven, that adds another $20k. Soon to be another $11k.
Just for the record, I’m not trying to be competitive - it’s just an interesting exercise,
and really makes me laugh at
my coworkers who think my bmw
is “fancy” yet they’re
all driving mid-sized SUVs they bought new for more than I’ve spent on cars my whole life to date.

My wife always gets the nice car, while I fix rust on my Mazda and prep it for teenagers.

G ood luck! or not. I don’t know if those are hard to sell, but I can’t imagine they fly off the lots, unless there’s a specific demographic.
